Categories
Here are general descriptions of each potential category that could be involved in a pageant. Please keep in mind that our regular pageants will have 3 categories with the option to compete in the themed optional extra. Our National competition, Mini Miss Tasmania, will have 6 categories with the option to compete in the themed optional extra.
Formal Wear
*This category will be apart of every pageant we hold.
Each contestant will walk the runway showing their graceful side whilst wearing their best formal outfit.
Rules:
- Gowns must be ankle length or longer
- Heels are required for ages 13yrs plus

Photogenic
*This category will be apart of every pageant we hold.
For our regular pageants, each contestant will submit two images which will be judged prior to the competition date. These images include:
1x Headshot (in colour)
1x Anything goes

For our National pageant, Mini Miss Tasmania, entrants will participate in a professional photoshoot where they will have 15 frames to get 1 perfect shot.
Casual Wear
Each contestant will walk the runway showing their unique style whilst wearing their best casual outfit.
Rules:
- Needs to be a casual outfit

Fun Fashion
Each contestant will walk the runway showing their personaliteies wearing their best fashion outfit.
Rules:
- Heels are required for ages 13yrs plus

Active Wear
Each contestants will walk the runway in their best active inspired outfit.
Rules:
- No high heels

Interview
* This category will only be included in our National pageant.
Each contestant will take place in an interview where they will have a 3min conversation with each judge.

Opening
* This category will only be included in our National pageants.
Each contestant will take place in an opening number which will be performed live onstage.
Miss Tasmania 2025 will wear yellow & Miss Kalgoorlie 2025 will wear white

Optional Categories
Optional categories are extra categories that allow the contestants the chance to win an extra title.
Each pageant has its own unique theme. This category requires each contestant to put together an outfit inspired by the theme. This can include hand making, designing and creating a unique outfit.
Rules:
The only rules that are present are that when the judges see your outfit they can understand exactly what theme it is representing.

Eco Wear - Mini Miss Tasmania
Christmas Wear - Mini Miss Saint Nicholas
Candy Wear - Mini Miss Gumdrop and Sweetheart
Valentines Wear - Mini Miss Valentine
Summer Wear - Mini Miss Summer Girl
Fairytale Wear - Mini Miss Fairytale
*Please note these are an extra cost on top of the standard entry fee.
*Please note that Eco Wear (apart of Mini Miss Tasmania) has its own set of unique rules which can be found in the hand booklet.
Miss/ Mr Charity
Miss/ Mr Charity is a free optional category and is only available at our national pageants, Miss Tasmania & Miss Kalgoorlie. Each entered contestant is required to raise funds any way they like for the chosen charity of the competition. All funds raised will be handed over by the contestants to the charity.
In 2024, Mini Miss Tasmania supported the Cancer Council Australia with Maleeya Wiggins becoming our Charity winner raising over $4,000.00!
